YACHATS, OREGON COOL PLACE

If you are looking for a great vacation spot try Yachats (Ya Hots) on the Oregon Coast. Yachats is located 26 miles south of Newport and 26 miles north of Florence. It is just a couple of miles from Cape Perpetua one of the beautiful spots on the coast. The population of the village is 617. Yachats services an area up and down the coast of about 50 miles and there are many more people within these boundries. There all all types of lodging and restaurants in the area. From B & Bs, to motels to luxury motels and private house rentals. There are a variety of restaurants in the area so you can fill up on the fresh local seafood. Also plenty of gift and other shops to keep your interest. For the hikers there is the coastal trail that goes thru town and the Cape Perpetua trail system. Besides the rocky shoreline and thundering waves there is a beach where the Yachats River meets the sea. There is even a spouting horn. For entertainment there is always something going on in Yachats. All kinds of special events too like the La De Dah Parade and Fireworks on the 4th of July, in March they have the 42 year old juried Arts and Craft Fair plus the Celtic Festival, Mushroom Festival, Yachats Music Festival and many more events. The Yachats Commons is a community center in town also where City Hall is located. They have events, classes and a Youth Center in the building. It has rooms which can be rented for events, birthdays, family reunions etc. In Yachats, the green mountains come down to meet the deep blue sea. Yachats is on Hwy 101 so you can go north and south to see other attractions in Florence (Sea Lion Caves), Waldport, Newport (Oregon Coast Aquarium) and Seal Rock where you can find some great tide pools. There are a number of state parks along the coast where you can find great beaches, wildlife, flora and fun. Yachats is also a great place to go in the winter time when many people come over to watch the winter storms beside their fireplaces. The waves crashing on the rocks are quite a sight. So for a good time check out Yachats. ( The photos used were shot by others on Yachats websites)
