NAVY AND NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL GAME: TOTAL RESPECT

Navy and Notre Dame played hard against each other in their football game this weekend. But at the conclusion Notre Dame won and then it happened. The Notre Dame players walked with the Navy players to their band where their Academy song was played and then all the players went to the Notre Dame side and listened to the Notra Dame song. There was total respect between the two teams.

Now the rest of the story. During WWII many of the male students at Notre Dame (which was all male at the time) went off to war. There were few students and the University almost closed. The Navy began sending students to the college to be trained in various classes which allowed the University to stay open. So there is a close history between the two schools and lots of mutual respect. Too bad other colleges and universities can't have the same.
